Yash’s KGF Chapter 2 is not his “type of cinema,” according to Kantara actor Kishore Kumar G. He also stated that he dislikes watching “mindless” television.

Actor Kishore Kumar G, who garnered praise for his film Kantara, has said that he hasn’t watched Yash’s KGF Chapter 2 as it is not his ‘type of cinema’.

In a recent interview, Kishore also said that he would watch a small film that is based on a serious subject and isn’t successful rather than something mindless.

Kantara, directed by Rishab Shetty, explores the possibility of faith and rationality coexisting, as well as the conflict between nature and development and other themes. It is set in a fictional village and follows a Kambala champion (Rishab) who clashes with an upright Forest Range officer, Muralidhar (Kishore). Kantara has grossed over 500 crores at the box office worldwide.

“I don’t know if it’s right or wrong, but I haven’t watched KGF 2,” Kishore told India Today. It’s not my type of film. It is a matter of personal preference. I’d rather watch a small film that is unsuccessful but deals with a serious subject than something mindless.”

Yash tasted phenomenal success with KGF Chapter 2. The film also starred Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon. Directed by Prashant Neel, the film released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.

Following the Covid-19 pandemic, the film received positive reviews from audiences and grossed over 500 crores at the Indian box office.

Yash appeared on the big screen as Rocky Bhai, a cool and rugged character. The actor in the film brings the charm of an angry young man to the screen.

Hombale Films is the production company behind both Kantara and KGF Chapter 2. Hombale Films also produced Yash’s 2018 film KGF Chapter 1.

Speaking with news agency PTI recently, Vijay Kiragandur, the founder of Hombale Films, said, “We were able to beat some records that we created like Kantara becoming the highest-grossing film in Karnataka. For KGF 2 the footfalls were six crores and for Kantara, it was about two-and-half to three crore.”

“There are plans to make KGF 3,” he said of the third installment of KGF. Prashant currently working on Salaar, and once that is finished, he will work on the script (for KGF 3). He’s got a plot… It could happen next year or later.”
