In March, at the 2022 Oscars, Will took the stage and punched Chris after joking about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head. Chris said, referring to Demi Moore’s 1997 film GI Jane, that Jada made the decision to shave her head after being diagnosed with alopecia areata, an autoimmune disease, on a talk show years ago. After the incident, Will was banned from attending the Academy Awards for the next ten years. Will shared a video on YouTube in July in which he answered some of the most frequently asked questions, including why he didn’t apologize to Chris during his acceptance speech. “At that point I was in a blur,” Will admitted, not immediately apologizing, saying, “It’s all blurry.”
