Bollywood is currently going through a slump at the box office and has fallen prey to the unfavourable boycott trend. On social media, a new Bollywood film is being denounced every day. Most recently, the boycott culture also targeted Lal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan. Speaking about the unfavourable trend, Arjun Kapoor claimed that because Bollywood is keeping quiet about it, individuals are now beginning to capitalise on it.

Arjun Kapoor claimed that the Hindi film business erred by remaining mute on the cancel culture in an interview with Bollywood Hungama.

He stated, “I think we erred by being silent about it. It was our decency, but individuals have started using that. We erred by assuming “our work will speak for itself,” in my opinion. Although it’s not always necessary to get your hands dirty, I believe we allowed it a lot and now it’s become ingrained in people.
“We need to band together and take action because what others write about us or the popular hashtags are distant from reality,” he said. People like us more when we produce successful box office hits because of the movie, not because of our last names.

Internet users are currently attacking the upcoming film Pathaan starring Shah Rukh Khan. An old statement by SRK about the rise of intolerance in India has been revived on the internet.
