DC and Warner Bros. will release the long-awaited sequel to Aquaman next year, while Amber Heard will replay his role as Mela in the franchise, while Deadline is despite the creators having stars. The creators of Aquaman 2 are keen to cast Amber Heard in the sequel and aren’t considering replacing the star. Warner Bros.’s idea of a “double standard” has been criticized by fans. Fans called on creators to replace Depp instead of Heard. Some fans flocked to the microblogging site, expressing anger at it and calling on others to boycott Aquaman 2.
One of the users who asked Warner Bros. to recast Mela in Aquaman 2 shared an old Depp statement claiming that Warner Bros. had asked him to resign from Fantastic Beasts. “JD was asked by @wbpictures to resign shortly after the British verdict. Why didn’t he do the same for a defendant convicted of defamation on the same charges?” ..
