Germany’s famous luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz has officially unveiled the second generation GLC mid-size SUV. The new 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC borrows many features from the recently launched vehicle manufacturer’s C-Class.

The 2023 GLC also sees many changes in its design. The most prominent of which are sleek headlights, a single metal strip on the front grille and slim tail lamps. Apart from these, hardly anyone will notice the difference between the 2023 model and the current model.

Large in size.

Talking about the size of the GLC, it has become bigger. However, it is based on the same platform on which the company’s other sedan C-Class has built. The new GLC measures 4,716 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width and 1,640 mm in length. At the same time, its wheelbase is 2,888 mm long. This gives more shoulder, head and knee space inside the car and has helped in making the boot space bigger.

Engine and power.

Another important change that has made in it is its powertrain. The 2023 GLC gets a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This engine generates power of 201 bhp and torque of 320 Nm. This engine is mated to a 48-volt hybrid system that makes an additional 23 bhp power and 200 Nm torque. Combined, the SUV churns out 224 bhp and 520 Nm of torque mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels.

Mercedes claims that the new 2023 GLC can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.8 seconds and has a top speed of 221 kmph. For damping, there is a four-link steel suspension with selective damping system at the front and independent multi-link suspension with selective damping system at the rear. For braking, all four wheels have ventilated disc brakes.

Features.

Talking about the technology and features of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC, it gets a new MBUX infotainment system, which gets a 11.9-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. It supports voice commands, AR-based navigation and touch-sensitive HVAC control.

The SUV also gets the Mercedes-Benz Level 2 Drive Pilot driver-assistance system. Along with this, a 360-degree camera has given which shows with the help of cameras what is really under the car. Apart from this, this car gets all the features that a luxury SUV should have.

How much will the price be?

As of now, no information has revealed about its price. The current model of the GLC is priced at Rs 62 lakh (ex-showroom) and we can expect the 2023 GLC to cost more than the current model. It is expected that Mercedes-Benz will launch the 2023 GLC hybrid SUV in India along with or soon after its global launch.
