Bharti Airtel launches 5G services in 125 cities across India


Indian telecom operator Bharti Airtel has launched its 5G services in 125 cities, marking the largest-ever rollout of its kind in the country. The Airtel 5G Plus service is now available to customers in over 265 cities, the company said in a statement.


The telco aims to cover all towns and key rural areas by March 2024. Bharti Airtel CTO Randeep Sekhon said 5G has revolutionized the world of internet, ushering a new era of connectivity and communications that will prove to be a game-changer for the country.


“At Airtel, we remain committed to delivering the highest quality of network and service to our customers as we roll-out 125 more cities today,” Sekhon added. The list of cities where the service has been launched includes Nellore, Ananthapur, Jorhat, Tezpur, Motihari, Gaya, Bilaspur, Dahej, Bharuch, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Jhansi, Ayodhya, Shahjahanpur, Raebareli, Manali, Solan, and many others.


Airtel’s 5G services are available in every major city from the northern city of Jammu to the southern tip of Kanyakumari. The company aims to offer nationwide coverage soon.
