The Rahul Gandhi claimed that the BJP government “scared” of the party leader and that Rahul Gandhi’s plane has been “deliberately” denied permission to land at Varanasi Lal Bahadur Shastri airport. Additionally, it claimed that the airport’s management refused to permit it due to the “excuse” that it would be used for President Droupadi Murmu’s trip to the Kashi Vishwanath temple. However, the party’s allegations rejected by the airport officials.
“Rahul Gandhi Plane scheduled to arrive here and then go to Prayagraj, but the airport authority did not allow his plane to land here due to pressure from the government. They said there is a traffic jam here and deliberately did not give permission,” Congress leader Ajay Rai quoted as saying by the news agency ANI.
Rai added that since the Congress MP began the Bharat Jodo Yatra, the BJP government has “scared” of Rahul Gandhi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been “anxious.”
Airport staff denied the allegations, claiming that they informed that Rahul Gandhi’s flight had canceled. According to Aryama Sanyal, the director of Varanasi airport, “airport authorities received the message from the company operating Rahul Gandhi’s flight during late evening hours of February 13 (the day of Gandhi’s scheduled visit) that the flight has canceled by the party.”
On Monday night, Rahul Gandhi plane supposed to fly into Varanasi. He had to go to the Kashi Vishwanath temple to pray. President Murmu, on the other hand, went to the temple on the same day. She made prayers at the temple and went to the Dashashwamedh Ghat to see the Ganga Aarti.
