Nitin Gadkari receives death threat calls at his Nagpur office


Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari Nagpur office has received two death threat calls since morning.

An unknown person called the union minister’s office’s landline number twice and threatened to kill him, according to sources.

On the phone, the person also threatened to blow up the office. Soon after, the office employees notified the police.

According to sources, Gadkari’s office received two consecutive calls between 11:30 a.m. and 11:40 a.m., and a complaint was filed with the nearest police station on behalf of Nitin Gadkari’s Public Relations Office at Khamla in Nagpur Chowk, which is approximately one kilometer from the union minister’s house.

Nagpur Police and Nitin Gadkari’s office later confirmed the news.

Police have begun an investigation and are currently speaking with employees of the minister’s office. As a result, security at Gadkari’s residence has been increased.

“The call details are being obtained, and our crime branch will work on the CDR. An analysis is underway. Existing security has been increased. Security has also been increased at the venue of the program of minister Gadkari… Further probe is underway,” the senior police official added.

“Union minister Nitin Gadkari office landline received three calls at 11.25 am, 11.32 am and 12.32 pm from BSNL,” Nagpur DCP Rahul Nadane was quoted as saying by ANI.
