Amber Heard’s sister Whitney Heard has criticized the MTV VMAs for inviting Johnny Depp to make a cameo. At the awards ceremony held last month, Johnny made a surprise appearance as Moonman. On her Instagram story, Whitney expressed her support for Amber and shared her DVMA hashtagged graphic featuring an image of an astronaut on the moon (Johnny’s Moonman performance). She wrote: “@MTV you are awful and clearly hopeless! I really hope that person who called you doesn’t have a daughter.”

Johnny called him a “wife-beater.” In June, Johnny nearly won a legal battle with Amber, who accused him of physical abuse. Johnny denied hitting her or any other woman.
