 Jennifer Lawrence, who turns 32 on Monday, August 15, is one of the most famous actresses of her generation. She was only 22 when she won an Oscar for Best Actress, and  went on to star in some of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful films in the following years. But did you know that Jennifer was rumored to make her Bollywood debut very early  in her career,  and that too, opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. 

  Remember Shekhar Kapur’s Paani?, her ambitious sci-fi adventure film was conceived by the filmmaker several years ago. At the turn of the last decade,  the film movement began, and in 2013 the director said Sushant Singh Rajput had been signed on as the male lead. Rumors circulated that she had starred in a movie opposite . Of course, the news caused a lot of excitement among moviegoers. Set in a world without water, Pani focuses on her young lovers as they travel through her hellish landscape. Sushanth’s participation had been confirmed by both the actor and the filmmaker, but news of Jennifer’s involvement, who was 23 at the time, was never confirmed. In January 2014, a Bollywood Life report quoted one ‘insider’ as saying, ‘Pani is going to be an expensive movie.

In order to be successful, the film needs to do well not only in India but around the world.With someone like Jennifer, the film will gain international attention,” the  report added. , added that Shekhar Kapoor had always wanted to cast a Hollywood actor for the film, but settled on Jennifer, who focused on her popularity  and acting ability in India.In the end, Pani was never  made. The film’s production company, Yash Raj Films, pulled out after three months of preparation and pre-production work. In 2020, one month after Sushanth’s death, Shekhar spoke with Manoj his Bajpayee on his Instagram Live about the  cancellation of the film and Sushanth’s reaction. “When the movie was put on hold and he realized he wasn’t going to do the movie, he cried a lot.

I cried too. I was also passionate and deeply involved, so every time he cried  I cried too,” he said.  Jennifer continued to star in the X-Men and Hunger Games franchises she previously starred in. She also starred in films like Joy and Mother, for which she was nominated for her third and fourth Oscar. The actor took a hiatus from his acting career in 2019 and returned with the satire Don’t Look Up starring Leonardo DiCaprio. She  next stars in the psychological drama Causeway, which premieres at next month’s Toronto International Film Festival.
