Johnny Depp’s attorney, Camille Vasquez, has revealed in a new interview why the actor decided to appeal the outcome of the defamation lawsuit. Camille said that as the case progressed, Johnny’s legal team made plans to “protect” the interests of his “client.”

Camille, who made headlines in a high-profile trial, recently sat down with CBS Morning host Gayle King for an interview to discuss the ongoing Johnny and Amber legal story. When he said: “Is it fair to say that none of you would have appealed if she (Amber) didn’t appeal [the results of the defamation lawsuit]?” Camille replied, “Yes, that’s a very fair statement.” “We have to protect the interests of our customers,” he added.
