Citroen will launch Citroen C3 hatchback in India on July 20, know features.

Citroen India has officially announced that it will officially launch its much-awaited Citroen C3 hatchback in India on July 20. The global debut of the all-new Citroen C3 was made in September 2021. This is the first of three models under the company’s C-Cubed program. However, the Citroen dealers have already started taking its pre-bookings unofficially. But the official bookings for the new C3 hatchback will start from July 1. Many customization options will also be available with this car.

New Platform.

Actually, the new Citroen C3 is a sub-compact SUV. However, the company is officially marketing the new C3 as a “hatchback with a twist”. The new Citroen C3 is largely based on the locally developed CMP (Common Modular Platform). It will also be used for a new mid-size SUV and a sedan.

Look and Design.

In terms of design, it looks quite different. It gets Citroen’s signature grille with chrome treatment which gets split headlamps at the front. It comes with double DRL, dual-tone paint scheme, split LED headlamp cluster. The side profile gets multi-spoke alloys and large wheel arches, and it sports body-cladding with skid plates at the front and rear. The company will offer the new C3 in 4 monotone and 2 dual-tone color options.

Engine and power.

The new C3 will be offered with two petrol engine options – a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol. The earlier variant generates power of 82 PS. While the latter generates 110 PS of power and 190 Nm of torque.

Transmission.

The new Citroen C3 will initially be offered with two gearbox options – a 5-speed manual with naturally-aspirated petrol and a 6-speed manual with a turbocharged petrol engine. The car may get an automatic gearbox, perhaps a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission at a later stage. The new C3 hatchback will be more powerful than the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and Tata Punch.

Features.

This hatchback car will come with a lot of features. It will get a large 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will come with USB fast charger for front and rear seat passengers. Talking about other features, it will get manual air conditioning, plain steering wheel without any switches, a digital instrument console. Apart from this, Citroen will also offer 3 accessory packages, 56 customizable options and over 70 accessories with the new hatchback.

Size.

Talking about the size of the new Citroen C3 car, its length will be 3.98 meters. This small car gets a wheelbase of 2,540 mm. It gets a boot space of 315-litres. It comes with a ground clearance of 180 mm, which can be considered good enough for Indian road conditions.

Competition.

After its launch in the Indian market, the Citroen C3 will compete with many SUVs like Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Renault Chiger and Mahindra XUV300.
