Ladakh Army Accident : So far 7 Indian Army personnel have lost their lives in a vehicle accident in Tartuk sector of Ladakh. Many soldiers have also suffered serious injuries in this accident. Efforts are on for the best treatment for the injured. Aerial efforts are on by the Indian Air Force to shift the jawans who are more badly injured to the Western Command.

According to information received from sources, a contingent of 26 Indian soldiers was going from a transit camp in Partapur to a forward location in Hanif sub sector when their vehicle slipped and fell into the Shyok river. So far 7 soldiers have died in this accident. Rescue operation is going on at the incident site.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also expressed grief over the tragic road accident in Ladakh. PM Modi tweeted and wrote, “Saddened by the bus accident in Ladakh in which we have lost our brave army men. My condolences to the bereaved families. I hope those who have injured come to the fore at the earliest. Get well. All possible help is being give to the injured.”

Ladakh Army Accident : How did the accident happen?
It is being told that a team of 26 jawans was moving from the transit camp of Partapur towards a forward post in sub-sector Hanif. Around 9 a.m., about 25 km from Thoise, the army vehicle skidded off the road and fell into the Shyok River. The depth of this river is said to about 50-60 feet. According to the information, all the injured jawans have shifted to 403 Field Hospital in Partapur and surgical teams from Leh have sent to Partapur.
President Kovind expressed grief

The country’s President Ram Nath Kovind also expressed grief over the Ladakh accident. The President tweeted, “Sad to learn that an unfortunate road accident in Ladakh has claimed the lives of some of our brave soldiers. My heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
While going to the forward location, the vehicle slipped and fell into the river.
According to information received from army sources, so far seven people have declared dead. Other people have also suffered serious injuries. Efforts are on to provide the best treatment to the other injured jawans. The jawans who were seriously injured in the accident are being airlifted by the Air Force to transfer to the Western Command.
